Soffit and Fascia Repair

Man repairing soffit and fascia on house in wilmington nc
Wilmington Gutter Pros provides Soffit and Fascia repair service in Wilmington, NC. Storm damage can hurt more than just your roof or gutters. Your soffit and fascia play an important role in keeping the elements and animals outside of your home.
Often times when gutter systems fail water damage begins to spread quickly because the wood stays damp due to low light conditions under the roof overhang. Other causes of damaged areas include wildlife such as squirrels and birds. These animals find damaged areas to have less resistance when they are pecking through the wood and thus search out damaged areas to find a place to build their nest.

A DIY soffit and fascia repair can be completed by the homeowner but due to special tools and needing to match the current trim on your home it is better left to the professionals such as Wilmington Gutter Pros.
Should you choose to do this repair yourself you will need the following tools.
  • Pry Bar
  • Reciprocating saw
  • Nail gun
  • Drill
  • Clamps
  • Tape Measure
Once you have all your tools ready you can begin the process of removing all of the rotted material. This includes any shingle molding, facisa, and soffit material. If you find that the rafter has rot on it you will need to remove it and replace with pressure treated lumber. Once the rafter has been replaced you can seal the soffit with a sealer and put it back in place. After this has been completed you can nail the fascia back in place and then finish the job by installing the shingle molding.
